The high season has not only started at Malaga airport; also the port of Malaga registers in April one of the months with more arrivals of cruise ships. Regarding Malaga airport, we have more news of new international connections. The airline Jet2.com will offer two new flights between the Costa del Sol and the English cities London-Stansted and Birmingham. Ryanair has also launched two new routes. One is to Amsterdam with 10 weekly flights and another is to Frankfurt with 14 weekly flights.

The airline KLM also offers a route to Amsterdam, seven days a week. The airline Nikki also offers during the summer months two weekly flights to Stuttgart, one weekly flight to Berlin and two weekly flights to Hamburg.

There is still more! The low cost carrier Norwegian, the fourth company at Malaga airport by passenger volume, offers 1.3 million seats to fly to Malaga from this week until October. This spectacular increase (more than 20%) compared to last year will be achieved by transporting passengers on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

This huge aircraft with capacity for 344 passengers which is usually used on intercontinental flights will arrive for the first time at Malaga airport and will do so throughout the summer every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Norwegian offers furthermore two new routes this summer, specifically to the German cities Dusseldorf and Hannover, with four and two weekly connections respectively.

All these data anticipate a very busy summer at Malaga airport, with a total of 89,400 commercial flights, which translate into a total of 15,5 million seats offered to the Costa del Sol.
