The summer has already arrived at the Costa del Sol and Malaga airport is at full swing with thousands of passengers arriving to enjoy their expected vacations and tanned tourists returning to their countries of origin.
Malaga airport-Costa del Sol currently ranks third in the ranking of Spanish airports, thanks to a steady increase in tourism and low-cost connections.
So we go to the news of this month regarding flights and connections to Malaga and the Costa del Sol:
The Finnish airline Finnair will increase its capacity between Malaga and its hub in Helsinki during the summer season, flying five times a week from and to the Costa del Sol.
Another Nordic company which is very interested in Malaga is Scandinavian Airlines, which will open a new base in Malaga, which will be one of the first bases outside of Scandinavia.
Finally, the third large European fleet, the German Lufthansa, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year since it landed for the first time at Malaga airport. They celebrate it by extending connections from the Costa del Sol to two very important German cities, Frankfurt and Munich.
During this summer Lufthansa will operate 24 weekly flights between Malaga and Frankfurt and 14 weekly flights from Malaga to Munich. For the winter season, which starts on October 29, Lufthansa will connect 12 times a week to both cities with Costa del Sol.
