Last year has been a record year at Malaga airport. Only in 2016 it has gained more than two million travellers and has closed with 16.6 million people moving to or from the Costa de Sol and the province of Malaga.

This growth continues also in the new year, with an increase in available seats. Only for the next 6 months has been estimated a growth of 13 percent in airplane seats compared to the first half of 2016. The United Kingdom remains the country from where more travellers come to Malaga with almost 5.5 million passengers.

There are more news regarding airlines. At the end of the first quarter of this year Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines passengers will be able to enjoy broadband internet in short and medium-haul flights.

And for the summer, Turkish Airlines will again offer a second daily flight between Malaga and Istanbul, which adds to the daily flight already consolidated between the Costa del Sol and the Turkish hub to Asia which operates throughout the year.
